The following resources are available to CLPMs to aid them in their developing their unit's language plan.
IAW DA PAM 11–8, it is a unit’s responsibility to appoint all CLPMs in writing. BDE CLPMs will be on appointment orders. There is no rank requirement for a CLPM.
The CLPM position will be at a level of authority within the organizational structure that is compatible with the language requirements of the unit’s mission.
BDE CLPMs will attend the DLIFLC resident or non-resident CLPM course within 6 months of appointment.
The BDE CLPM will maintain the linguistic skills database and coordinate initial screening of all incoming personnel for language skills.
BDE CLPMs will coordinate quarterly with the SFAC CLPM in a Command Language Council which will advise commanders on issues relating to the unit’s Language Program and assist the commander in the execution of Language Training.
